About This Project

The Long-Term Care Infection Prevention Advantage.

This resource hub was initially built as part of my participation in the Presidential Leadership Scholars program — a leadership development initiative that challenges participants to apply their skills to a project with real-world impact.

Long-term care infection prevention is a personal passion and a professional calling. What became clear through this project is that passion and expertise alone are not enough to drive change. Decision-makers — administrators, owners, financial leaders, medical directors, and the families choosing care for their loved ones — need a business case. They need stories, data, and perspectives from voices they trust and respect. This hub exists to provide exactly that.

It is not about criticizing long-term care. Long-term care exists — to allow people to age with dignity, in community, in safety. This project is a celebration of the professionals making that possible, and a resource for the leaders with the power to support them better.

This is the start of a long-term movement. The goal right now is to plant seeds: to start conversations, tell stories, and lay a foundation that others can build on. Leadership is often about beginning something larger than yourself. This is that beginning.
